Psychonaught is one of Newcastle's brightest rising stars as these next two tracks show. I'd heard both the tracks before but had only just been shown the videos and thought they were definately worth the post. Seriously though, I love everything this boy does. Funky meets Dubstep meets soulful RnB in a perfect combination suitable for both club and living room alike. "I Just Want You" has been a permanent feature in my DJ sets for about a year now and will continue to be for a long time to come! You can cop it from Formant Records :)
Meanwhile, check out these two great music videos!!!
Funk Ethics has consistently been pushing new styles and music to the north-east since first bursting on to the scene with this classic. In more recent times, Funk Ethics has gone on to release on Boka and Giles Peterson's own imprint - Brownswood. Head honcho of the forward thinking "Natural Selection" events, you can guarantee a strong sense of musicality to his music.

HATCHA
DJ Hatcha is one of the original FWD residents alongside Youngsta and Kode9, and is regarded as one of the original pioneers of dubstep. You could find him behind the desk at Croydon’s Big Apple Records, the infamous shop which became a hub for the dubstep scene as it developed. Hatcha mixed the first dubstep compilation; ‘Dubstep Allstars Vol:1’ on genre mainstay Tempa, as well as volume 4 in the series, and supported artists like Skream and Benga from very early on in their careers. He has released various singles himself - on Tempa as well as Mike Paradinas’ Planet Mu, and is resident on Kiss FM alongside his very good friend Crazy D.

THE STEPPAHS
Reppin for the ladies The Steppahs are Manchesters number one dubstep duo. Holding residencies at Metropolis and Hit & Run, the pair have been performing their explosive sets all over the UK. They have played at Ministry of Sound and The Warehouse Project to name a few, alongside artists like Skream, Benga, N Type, Virus Syndicate, Chase & Status and Jakes.
